Excellent idea about Flounder Revolution. I look forward to the "tournament" and the title for FLOUNDER ANGLER OF THE YEAR is sure to inspire many more fisherman to release the giant breeders for years to come!!!

I have only lived in the region long enough to know how things are--not how they were or could be again. I've seen some fish species recover through better management (smallmouth bass in Minnesota), and I hope the flounder effort works.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Wayne this past fall & also fished with him in the Lutes Tourney in November. We are both very interested in the issues involving flounder as we both consider ourselves die-hard flounder fisherman.

I hope they return as well. Right now we are at  a critical juncture and it's way better to take action now than not and lose a fishery in the long run.

Regulations are great for controlling the honest people, but what is being done about the poachers or the ones that don't have to abide by our laws?

Hopefully we will see an increase in enforcement on the flounder issue with particular interest on the commercial end and shrimping fleet

Enjoyed reading the article very much. I participated in the Tournament @ Lutes this past November & me & my partner in the tourney turned in 7 flounder that were taken to Sea Center Texas for the breeding program that they have started. This is something that is very near & dear to me, as I primarily fish for flounder nad have been for the last 30 years. I primarily fish the Brazos River in the Freeport area. This past month I was privileged to be able to see the tanks that they are hatching out the flounder @ the Sea Center after attending a CCA meeting.

There may be some areas that are struggling with their flounder populations, but in my opinion the Brazos River area is not one of them. This past fall I had one of the best flounder fishing falls that I have ever had. I caught over 10 limits throughout the fall with one stretch with 6 trips ina row where I caught limits each trip, and each trip had at least a 5lb fish in it. This past falls flounder fishing I caught consistently bigger fish than I have ever caught before.

I will be very interested in seeing what changes take place regarding the regulations for flounder. Please keep me posted of any new information that you may receive.

I look forward to reading more of your writings in the future. If there is any way that I can be of assistance, please let me know.

I have been fishing Chocolate Bayou area out of Lutes Marine for many years. Flounders were abundant in years past. In the more recent past, I have seen a decline in flounder numbers. I am glad to see someone like you in charge of this effort, keep up the good work.
