Switching gears to  some fishing stuff, have you ever heard of tipping jigs with strips of flounder belly meat? It seems to be a popular trick on the East Coast for summer flounder and it is something I actually tried a few times to some success.

Have any of you tried this? With the spring run coming up it might be something to add to your repertoire if you're like some anglers and don't like eating the belly meat on the flounder.

I was doing a bit of research getting ready to make my flounder only tackle box for 2009. Each year I experiment with all kinds of different stuff to bring my readers the latest information and tactics that can benefit them in the field. I just went to Flounder Pounder who I have to admit has been off my radar for awhile and found their "Sliding Walker" weights.
