Kudos to Greater Woodlands CCA
I just got back from my speaking engagement at the Greater Woodlands CCA chapter meeting at Gander Mountain in Spring.
At the invitation of James Kay I took the offer a couple of weeks ago and was glad I did. I met some of the most quality, sincere people I have had the pleasure to meet in a long while. As a bonus my good buddy Bryan Treadway took time of his busy schedule to visit and help spread the good word of coastal fisheries conservation.
By far the highlight of the night was meeting one of my First Flounder kids, Cameron Johnson who received a First Flounder certificate earlier this year.
He was also highlighted in the special First Flounder page in Texas Fish & Game in the June issue and his grandfather Frank Arrazate was kind enough to bring him to the event tonight. Cameron wanted his magazine autographed and to talk flounder fishing. It has been a while since I met such a bright-eyed, smart, forward thinking kid. In fact, at one point I told the audience he was smarter than 90 percent of our elected officials!
It was an honor meeting Cameron and his family along with all of the great people with Greater Woodlands CCA. Kudos to all of you on your relatively new chapter. I know you will do great things.

It's me and future flounder conservationist Cameron Johnson at the Greater Woodlands CCA meeting.

Taking the time to listen to Chester speak is always enjoyable. Big strides have been made on the flounder front for restocking starting with Sabine. It's because of the public and recreational fisherman that we will be able to see our grandkids catch flounder in the bay, unlike species such as Snook and Tarpon, which use to be mainstay catches in the Galveston Bays. Chester is blazing a path for generation to come.

Having Chester Moore speak at our Chapter General Memebership Meeting May 28th at Gander Mountain in Spring, TX. I am only 32 years old and even I have noticed the steady decline in flounder populations. Chester's passion is shared by many CCA members throughout Texas and believe now is the time to stand up for flounder. I encourage everyone to join the Flounder Revolution. Thanks again Chester for all your hard work and please know it is greatly appreciated.
