Barlow takes lead in Sept. replica program

The Flounder Revolution replica program is heating up.

Angler Thomas Barlow just took the lead in September by catching, releasing, documenting and entering a beautiful saddle blanket fom the Galveston Bay complex.

From Thomas...

"Here is a flounder submission for you.. I caught this fish in galveston bay on Sept 19th around 10am. Came of a soft plastic worked weedless in the marsh. She measured 22.25 and weighed in at 5#s."

Barlow correctly followed submission guidelines and knocks Frank Moore from the head of the race for September. The largest flounder measuring 20 inches or more caught, documented (as per our guidelines) and photographed can earn a fiberglass flounder replica from March-November through our program which you can learn more about by clicking here. The angler with the most total inches of flounder registered at the end of November gets a special trophy and a $1,000 fishing tackle package.

September is still in play so go out there and fish.

Congrats to Thomas Barlow on catching and releasing this spotted beauty for the Flounder Revolution replica program!

Great to see the flounder fishing interest taking off. I have had to bow out of the fishing scene for the last several yrs., like many others, while I repair the homestead from Rita and Ike.
Have not really been on Sabine for a long time. When I did fish it, flounder were always my favorite target.
I have only had one fish mounted in all the years I have fished and it was a 7.5 lbs. flounder caught in Sabine. I have gotten many others close to that size only to have them laughingly spit the bait back as you dip the net or reach to grab it. I find them to be a very crafty fish..I know the mouth is boney but I think it goes beyond that. They seem to play a game of " Is this mine or his" before fully taking the bait. Hope the flounder attention continues....bring this population backup to par with other game fish.
