Introducing...The Flatties (Flounder Achievement Awards)
Greetings fellow flounder fanatics!
With the fall run kicking in, things are getting exciting here around the Flounder Revolution headquarters (my house). This project is totally self-funded, self-produce and fairly labor intensive but it is so exciting to see the changes happening for our favorite fish.
With that said I thought it would be great to recognize flounder fishing and conservation achievements so I want to introduce The Flatties. These will be the Flounder Revolution annual awards including our "Flounder Angler of the Year" and I need your help with some of the categories. Here they are.
Flounder Angler of the Year---This will be earned by the angler who turns in the most total inches of released (back into the wild or for hatcheries) flounder for our March-Nov. time frame.
#
Youth Flounder Angler of the Year---This will simply be for the angler age 17 or younger who between now and the end of November turns in a photo of themselves with the biggest released flounder. The same release and photo rules for our replica program apply. Click here for details. All entries will receive a special certificate. Bring those cameras with you when you take your kid fishing and let's get in some entries to cmoore@fishgame.com.
#
Flounder Conservationist of the Year---Goes to the person who has done the most throughout the year to help the cause of flounder conservation. Feel free to send in your suggestions to cmoore@fishgame.com.
#
Steward of the Year---This goes to someone who passes on the torch of flounder fishing to others. Know an angler that shares a lot of information on flounder fishing or takes others out a lot? Email suggestions to cmoore@fishgame.com.
#
Flounder of the Year---This is a fun category and I need your photos. This will go to the angler who sends in the most unique flounder catch of the year. It could be a piebald fish, a huge Gulf flounder which anglers occasionally catch or just one that is spotted up like crazy. Flounder come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Send pics to cmoore@fishgame.com.
This will be a fun project and a way to recognize this growing fishery. I appreciate your help.
Also, anyone who would like to meet for dinner 7:30 p.m. Friday Oct. 16 the night before our Sabine flounder roundup contact me. I wan to put together a dinner for fellow flounder fanatics and need at least six to book a room. We'll meet at Gator Country outside of Beaumont after my radio show. Let me know and thank you all for a great year.

Flounder Conservationist of the Year
Nominations
I wanted to nomiate a husband and wife team .... the Barlow's, Thomas and Kaylin.
Both have now released a flounder over 20" in your tournament, and both have donated numerous fish from galveston to SCT in the Lutes tournaments.
Thomas also donated an oxygen system to help with the transportation of the live flounder to SCT.
They are true conservation-est and are on board with giving the flounder a helping hand.
Thanks,
BRYAN
