Flounder Revolution (R) is the concept and original project of award-winning outdoors communicator and conservationist Chester Moore. The goal is to fundamentally change the way flounder are viewed
to ensure their conservation for future generations.
Don't forget the Sabine Lake Flounder Roundup is tommorow.
The event will seek live donations of flounder to aid TPWD's stocking program and produce baby flounder to be stocked back into Sabine Lake. Anglers can stop by and donate live flounder next to Sharky’s Grill at 540 South Levee Road on Pleasure Island from around from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
We need as many people as possible to fish on behalf of flounder at this event. It is crucial to help with the stocking program, whichhas already helped put fish back into Sabine Lake. All fish brought in to theevent need to be legal-sized. Keeping flounder alive during the fall is easy. If you have a livewell, simply keep the water circulating and if you are fishing from the bank, an ice chest works great. Simply put in plenty of water, use an aerator or oxygen bottle if you have one and change out water as much as possible.
I will be personally donating a replica of their catch tothe angler who brings in the largest flounder through my Flounder Revolutionprogram. Southeast Texas anglers have led the way in flounderconservation and we have an opportunity here to take it to the next level.
