Monday Flounder Update: CCA Sponsors Replica Program
A new year is upon us and Flounder Revolution could not start 2010 off in a better way.
I am happy to announce the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) is now the official sponsor of our replica program.
They made a $1,000 donation that will cover all of our replicas during the 2010 season and allow the program to reach new levels.
I gave out seven replicas last year and they all came out of my pocket. I chose to do it that way to get the program established and put my money where my mouth was so to speak. Having CCA come on this year however is a huge blessing as we want to do even more with Flounder Revolution and this replica project is the flagship conservation project.
In a statement sent out by CCA President Pat Murray, the veteran conservation said, "This program is an important step in raising the awareness of the importance of flounder conservation."
"Just like redfish and speckled trout is a vital species for Texas and it deserves the proper attention. Chester's work has been visionary and has brought flounder conservation to the mainstream."
In all of my years of crusading for flounder, CCA was the first group to join in the fight and they are still out there doing things on behalf of flounder and flounder fishermen.
I'm also super excited to be partnering with The Fish Mount Store who will be producing our replicas this year. The Fish Mount Store produced this awesome rendition of one of my biggest ever flounder. Trivia buffs might appreciate the fact this replica is of one of the two big fish I am holding in Flounder Fever and on the back cover of the Keith Warren Flounder Tactics video.
On top of all of this will be Fall Flounder Fest that takes place at Fishing Tackle Unlimited in Houston Sept. 25 along with some totally unique projects.
We have found a way and you will find out, but not just yet.
All I can say it that it is big and truly revolutionary.
