The Revolution Continues....

Yes, it's late Saturday night as I sit down to write my weekly Monday update. I probably should wait and send all of this information when everyone is at work on their computers, checking out the Net on their employer's time (lol) but I can't contain myself. I'm just too excited, so hear we go.

When I started this Flounder Revolution project back at the end of 2008, the idea was to fundamentally change the fishery from the conservation of the species to the way people see and catch these amazing fish. Along the way, I have done some changing myself.

I started asking the good Lord to reveal to me knowledge that I can pass on to people that will truly help them catch more fish even if it changes their entire outlook on fishing. I have known for a few years that there is a deeper, more effective way than what the angling community has been promoting all these years. Last year my prayers got answered as I had the amazing blessing of getting to fish with the absolute top anglers in the world, professional anglers with millions of dollars in winnings to their credit and also make some unique observations in the field during the course of field testing and research. Over the last six months in particular, many of my ideas about technique and what really matters in fishing have been quite literally shaken.

This year, beginning with my seminar season that kicks off March 1 at the CCA Bay Area Chapter in League City, I will begin to reveal a truly revolutionary process of flounder fishing. Some of these things involve huge improvements on old standards, cutting edge technology and most importantly a new mental outlook on the pursuit.

I have never been this excited and motivated about fishing in general, in particular flounder and trout fishing, both of which much of this effort has been focused. This is not hype or a hard sell but genuine enthusiasm over things that will benefit us all.

In these seminars, I will be utilizing a new format and covering virtually all new ground. Make sure and check them out, especially the one 2 p.m. Sat. March 6 at the Houston Boat Show where I will give away a guided fishing trip (with a USCG licensed guide and myself on board) on Sabine Lake. The first 50 people to sign up will be the only ones allowed in the drawing which will take place on site. Be there early so you don't miss out on the drawing.

I'm still in the process of taking all of this in and learning a lot of very interesting things right now so I don't know where it will end up but I do know it will be exciting.

Get ready for some perspective changing and skill enhancing set to come your way.

Galveston stocking coming soon

Sea Center Texas (SCT) is getting ready to do a flounder stocking in the Galveston Bay complex soon. Flounder Revolution will be on hand to document the event and of course will have photos and video to share. Until then here are some pics of the beautiful baby fish provided by uber dedicated flounder conservationist Bryan Treadway (who by the way is about to do something cool and really fun to raise money for the hatchery. Details soon.) Thanks Bryan.

.Com Upgrade

March 1 I will see the debut of a brand new flounderrevolution.com. This site which is under construction now already looks killer and has a bunch of cool new features. The blog will remain pretty much the same but everything else has been revolutionized.

Early Run Kicking Off

I have been talking about an early run of flounder for several years now and it is happening right now on Sabine Lake, Calcasieu and Galveston. Anglers are starting to see some really nice fish start to slowly move in. If you want to catch the biggest fish of the year, I would fish as much as possible between now and the middle of March. And don't forget from March 1-Nov. 30 all fish 20 inches or larger, released and documented will qualify for our replica program.

Lots of fish got out last fall with the new regulations and I have a feeling lots are going to come into our bays big, hungry and able to give us that "thump" fix we've all needed since the fall run fizzled.

Always dream BIG!
