Monday Flounder Update: Amazing Weekend
Greetings fellow flounder fanatics!

I would like to thank everyone who showed up for my seminar at the Houston Fishing Show Saturday. We had by far the largest attendance of the weekend with standing room only and little of it. It was great meeting everyone and talking reds, specks and of course flounder.
I have lots of people to thank for helping out in various ways so here we go.
First off, thanks to Steve Walko of Texas Rattlin' Rig for donating an amazing American Rod Smith rod and reel combo and $150 worth of his company's killer products. Steve is a wonderful guy who has a real heart for flounder and always steps up to the plate to help the species. It was great having so many people bring in printed copies of the blog and shouting "Viva Revolution!" across the floor of the George R. Brown Convention Center.
Bryan Treadway helped spread the word about the event and helped organize our drawings. He's another guy with a great heart for flounder and for helping the public lean more about the species. He and Savage Rods have teamed up to produce a limited run of custom flounder casting rods to benefit Sea Center Texas. More about those in a later update.
After giving away the trip with me and a guide on Sabine Lake, Thomas Barlow who I did not realize was a captain stepped up to the plate and donated a trip to fish Galveston Bay. He and his wife Kaylin won two of last year's replica fish and plan on taking it all the way this year. Thanks so much for this trip and for caring about the species. Also credit goes to MidCoast products for donating some of their awesome corks to give out. I'm doing a special blog tomorrow about fishing flounder around structure and will be talking about my experience using their Outcast float.
By the way our Sabine winner was Sharon Stewart and the Galveston trip was taken by David Hall.
Thanks to all of the people at the show especially Cindy Martindale for being so accomodating and inviting me out to speak. They put on a great event.
I'm probably leaving someone out so if I forgot you know it's just the fact I have many things on my plate and it is certainly not on purpose.
Again, I want to thank everyone who attended the event and came up to me at the show to visit, ask questions or simply say "hello". I hope you know I always bring my best and try to give information in an entertaining way. I love you all and look forward to getting after some flounder this week.
God bless,
Chester Moore
