BIG week for Flounder Revolution!

Greetings fellow flounder fanatics!

This is a really BIG week for the Revolution with many goings on so here we go....

Galveston Flounder Stocking

The Galveston Bay complex got another flounder stocking Monday.

Shane Bonnot and the Sea Center Texas crew released 450 baby flounder into Galveston Bay which is the second stocking of 2010. This was documented by a Texas Parks & Wildlife Department film crew for a future television broadcast. They also filmed the first stocking which I attended a couple of months ago.

Thanks to Bryan Treadway for these great photos from the stocking and for his tireless work in helping get broodstock for the Galveston complex through his tournaments at Lutes Marine.

These tiny flounder represent the future of Texas' flounder fishery.

Moore Speaking on Flounder Saturday at DU Sporting Expo

I will be holding a seminar at the DU Sporting Expo Sat. May 29 at 1 p.m. The topic is "Saltwater Tactics for Largemouth Bass (And Vice Versa)". A big focus of the seminar will be flounder and some recent fishing research I have done. Other editors and contributors to Texas Fish & Game will also be on hand throughout the weekend. I will be at the Texas Fish & Game booth (700) to talk outdoors and would love to meet all of you in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Expo is being held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine.

Flounder Revolution providing flounder replica at S.A.L.T. Tournament

This weekend is the 36th annual Saltwater Angler's League of Texas (S.A.L.T.) tournament being held out of Pleasure Island on Sabine Lake.

In addition to their normal flounder category, they will have a live release flounder bonus pot of $750 and the top three flounder brought in live will split that money. In addition Flounder Revolution will provide a replica to the largest of the live flounder brought in. These fish will all be released back into Sabine Lake to fight another day.
