Flatfish University (In Pictures)

Greetings fellow flounder fanatics!

The very first Flatfish University (TM)  has come and gone. Nearly 100 dedicated anglers showed up at Fishing Tackle Unlimited (FTU)

Saturday to take part in this new, unique educational process for flounder. It was truly an honor meeting everyone, sharing my knowledge and having so many wonderful people like Bryan Treadway, Capt. Phillip Samuels, Shane Bonnot, Steve Walko, Allen Pierce and John Jeffries help you learn more about catching and conserving these amazing fish. Special thanks goes to my wife Lisa for handling the merchandise (with a little help from Fortune Ford) and Clint Starling for checking in everyone at the front door.

Here's a photo gallery from the event. Feel free to send your own pics in to cmooreoutdoors@yahoo.com if you would like them to be included.

Expect another Flatfish University (TM) coming next week and lot s of flounder news coming this week.

God bless,

Chester Moore

Where else are you going to get to handle a flounder skull? Three flounder fans check one out during Chester Moore's flounder hookset clinic.

Chester Moore shows why you don't use a light casting rod to tangle with hard-skulled flounder at the FTU demonstration pool.

Steve Walko of Texas Rattlin' Rigs packs 'em in doing an informative demonstration of using corks to catch flounder.

Bryan Treadway discussed Galveston bank fishing hot spots for flounder. He took the time to go one on one with people after his seminar and even walked anglers through the store to show them where to find key flounder gear.

The Q&A at the end with all panelists was super popular and brought up some very interesting questions.

Shane Bonnot of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's Sea Center Texas worked with anglers to show them proper flounder handling techniques so they can catch, photo and release them or donate them to the hatcheries.

Custom rod maker Allen Pierce shows an angler how to make a custom Chester Moore-style pool cue rod. Notice the rod made of an actual cue stick on the table made by Chester Moore, Sr.

Attendees were super focused on the subject matter and took detailed notes.

Chester Moore discusses some of his favorite flounder fishing products.

Shane Bonnot demonstrates flounder handling while Andy Adams documents the process on film. There will be a DVD coming out in January detailing the event and Chester Moore's F.L.E.X. Fishing (TM) flounder seminar.
